Juhu has attracted the well-heeled among Mumbai's population for almost a century and today it remains one of the city’s most affluent areas. The area surrounding the beach is famous for its reasonably-priced eateries and delicious street food, notably bhelpuri, pani puri, chaats, and pav bhaji. At the north end of Juhu beach stands Gandhi Gram, which was the home of India’s great leader, Mahatma Gandhi. Juhu beach itself is regularly cleaned and cleared of hawkers, and can be easily accessed from eiany of Vile Parle, Santacruz or Andheri railway stations. Juhu is surrounded by the Arabian Sea in the west, and Santacruz and Vile Parle in the east. A large number of luxury hotels are situated on the southern end of beach. The area is home to many of Bollywood’s leading stars as well as top cricketers, politicians and the city’s business leaders, which has earned it the moniker of the ‘Beverly Hills of Bollywood’.
