Program details

See Granada through the eyes of a local with this audio guide tour and Alhambra admission package.

HIGHLIGHTS:

* Admission to all the palaces and gardens including Alcazaba, Nasrid Palaces and Generalife

* Four fascinating routes of the city

* Audio guide prepared by the city’s official chronicler

The audio guide has more than five hours of narration and is valid for 48 hours. Commentaries have been especially prepared by the city’s official chronicler for four fascinating routes: Muslim (which includes the Alhambra), 17th century, Landscape, and Baroque. The Alhambra general admission allows you to visit all the palaces in the complex as well as the Generalife Gardens.

The Muslim Route covers the Alhambra and its environs, giving you the lowdown on this breathtaking complex. The general admission allows access to all the palaces and garden such as the Alcazaba, Nasrid Palaces, Generalife and Palace of Charles V. The views overlooking the city are stunning.

The 17th century Route focuses on the city centre and Realejo district, which was where the city’s sizable Jewish community lived until the Christians captured Granada in 1492. Its labyrinthine alleys of white walls with copious vegetation are the essence of old Granada.

The Landscape Route takes in the Albaicin and the Sacromonte barrios. The Albaicin was the Muslim quarter and is a maze of cobbled lanes that occasionally open onto plazas boasting romantic views of the Alhambra and the Sierra Nevada. Sacromonte is famed for its cave dwellings, traditionally inhabited by gypsies.

The Baroque Route centres on the medieval streets of old town, where the cathedral – an eclectic mix of Gothic, Renaissance and baroque styles – and markets are to be found.
