Visit two of the most impressive attractions in the world with this half-day tour of the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Both are Unesco World Heritage Sites and boast levels of design and craftsmanship that showcase the very best of Mughal architecture. This fascinating four-hour tour will take your breath away.

The sightseeing starts at the Taj Mahal, the jewel in Agra’s – and India’s – crown. The Taj Mahal is the epitome of love, a poem written in marble by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahanfor his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal. This majestic mausoleum is made entirely of white marble and its walls are decorated with exquisite pietradura (stone inlay). Rare and precious stones were used in the intricate inlay work of the interiors. See immaculately carved stonework that will take your breath away. This magnificent monument is set around a Charbagh or 'four garden' plan.

Continue to Agra Fort, which has stood on this site for a thousand years and was the seat and the stronghold of the Mughal Empire. This vast riverside complex, which boasts a collection of palaces, pavilions and mosques, owes its origins to Akbar the Great, who erected the walls and gates and the first buildings on the eastern banks of Yamuna River. Shah Jahan added the impressive quarters while Aurangzeb added the outer ramparts. See the Hall of Public Audience and the Royal Pavilions, and admire the Heavenly and Pearl mosques while from the Musamman Burj, you can enjoy stunning views over the river and the Taj Mahal.
