The northern district of Sanxia is famed for its Qingshui Zushi (Divine Ancestor) Temple, which is renowned for the painstaking and time-consuming dedication to classical temple arts that is manifested in its modern reconstruction work. The town itself is a treasure trove of eastern mystique, with a delightful array of oriental architecture.

Nestled where fertile plains meet mountain foothills and blessed with convenient inland river transport, Sanxia was a historical base for the production of camphor, the growing of tea, and especially the dyeing of cloth. But the star attraction is without doubt the Qingshui Zushi Temple, with its unparalleled combination of religion and art, and exquisite carvings.

Yingge is a bustling town known for its ceramics industry - an old square coal-fired kiln chimney is one of its most popular landmarks. The centrepiece of the trade is Jianshanpu Road, where you can not only appreciate the pottery and porcelain works but also enjoy the street performance and coffee on the street. There are more than 100 stores on the street. Even the ice cream stand has lovely mugs and cups for customers to choose from. Besides purchasing the pottery and porcelain products, you can also learn how to make your own pottery masterpieces.
