Departure from Phnom Penh in direction south east and reach the city of Takeo which gave name to the province. The transfer will last around 2 hours, where is possible to appreciate the real Cambodian life. In this itinerary is possible to observe the countryside and its life which seems have been fixed in the past. Once arrive in Takeo embark on small boat, maximum, capacity 6 pax, and navigation around the channels and in the rice field. This particular itinerary takes 1 hour and it is really interesting for the incredible variety of birds.
Then we reach Phnom Da, sacred place during the Funan period (VII century), here was built the most important temple of the city, called Angkor Borei, that had been for a long period the capital of the reign. The ruins of the temple are in laterite, bricks and sandstone of the VI century. The structure and the sculpture on site are not really well preserved but all the sculptures exhibited in Phnom Penh Museum come from this particular area.
