Program details

Why not try kite surfing while you're on Fuerteventura. This extreme sport isperfect for adrenaline junkies. It involves a combination of wakeboarding, windsurfing, surfing, paragliding and gymnastics all rolled into one. You'll learn to skim across the water, feeling the power of the wind as you go, in this course for beginners spread over two days. Fuerteventura is a Mecca for kitesurfers and the Flag Beach School, is the best of its kind in the Canary Islands.

Over the years Flag Beach School has developed a highly efficient teaching method running courses downwind using 6 metre semi-ridged inflatable boats. All the boats are equipped with first aid kits, VHF radios, mobile phones and are fitted with either 70 or 80 HP engines. This means that you can learn to kite surf anywhere around the northern tip of Fuerteventura whatever the wind direction. This also means that you won't have to waste time walking back up wind as any time spent in the water is 100% in the water.

On the first day you'll start with a brief theoretical introduction to the sport before you start by learning to rig up and practice some basic manoeuvres, including landing and launching the board. Then the next day after getting kitted up it's time to practice kitesurfing with an experienced instructor. Most of the teaching is done from a boat as this is the safest way and also allows unlimited body dragging and practising getting onto the board.

Don't miss this chance to learn one the world's top extreme sports in an idyllic location.
