This morning or afternoon excursion will take you to the eastern suburbs of Kuala Lumpur, where you'll visit the Batu Cave Hindu Temple, witness the art of fine pewter crafting and see batik being made by hand.

After being picked from your hotel at 08:45 or 13:45 we'll drive down Ambassador's Row, the exclusive thoroughfare where the embassies of various nations are situated heading for the Royal Selangor Pewter factor, passing through several traditional Malay villages on the way. The Royal Selangor Pewter Factory was founded in 1885 by Yong Koon, crafting pewter objects for ceremonial use and is now the largest and most important of its kind in the world. Then we'll stop at the village of Gombak where you will be able to see the traditional art of handmade Batik. Finally we'll stop at the the famous Batu Cave Hindu Temple, a massive limestone outcrop with a cavernous interior which can only be reached by climbing 272 steps cut into the living rock. This is the site of one of the most important Hindu shrines outside India, dedicated to Lord Murugan and is a popular attraction for pilgrims for the annual Thaipusam Festival. The caves are filled with images of deities and murals depicting scenes from Hindu mythology. They are also home to a numerous colony of friendly monkeys.

This 3 ½ hour tour is available in the morning and afternoon and includes hotel pick and up and drop off, transfer and all entrance fees and the services of an English-speaking guide throughout.
