Live the high life in Sri Lanka’s central highlands with this two-day tour of Kandy and Nuwara Eliya. There is something for everyone in this action-packed cultural odyssey, including a visit to an elephant orphanage, a world heritage Buddhist temple, an arts centre, a tea factory and much, much more.

Begin your adventure with a scenic drive inland, where the climes become cooler, the landscapes more verdant and the countryside hillier. Arrive at the world-famous Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and watch the elephants frolicking in water during their bath time. Afterwards, you have the option of visiting the fragrant Mawanella spice gardens.

Continue to Kandy, the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and a Unesco World Heritage Site, and visit the Botanical Gardens. After lunch, enjoy a city tour including a visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, an arts and crafts centre and a gem museum (optional). In the evening, watch a cultural show and have dinner before overnighting in three-star accommodation.

On day two, leave for Nuwara Eliya, which is known as Little England and is the heartland of Sri Lanka’s tea country, producing a significant share of the world's best tea. Visit a factory and see how tea is processed. On arrival in Nuwera Eliya, enjoy a brief walking tour of this picturesque town in the shadow of Sri Lanka’s highest mountain.
