Program details

This urban trek provides stunning views of San Francisco, unique vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge, and a chance to mix with locals at work and play.

Walk out onto the Golden Gate Bridge, then hike along spectacular, rugged Pacific coastline and cliffs for bird's eye views. Marvel at the architecture of San Francisco’s finest homes. Watch the sun set on the Pacific after completing a brilliant walk from the Golden Gate Bridge to the Cliff House Restaurant.

Walk rugged cliffs, and lonely beaches known only by local hikers, surfers and fishermen. Soak up the history, and discover sea life, diverse fauna and some great bird watching.

Explore the remains of Sutro Baths, once the world's largest indoor swimming pool complexes until it was destroyed by fire in the 1960s and then finish with a hot or cold beverage at the famous Cliff House restaurant. Take time to explore the restaurant's room-size camera obscura, situated on one of its terraces.

Throughout the walk, your leader will provide insight into the areas history, folklore and abundance of natural life. This walking tour starts every day at 12pm and takes around 4 hours, meeting at the Golden Gate Bridge Café, located at the south end of the bridge. Remember that the weather along the coast can change quickly. Please wear layers, comfortable walking shoes, and be prepared for cool, damp weather if forecasted. You should bring at least one litre of water and snacks. The tour operates in english.
