Program details

Budapest is a romantic city and this tour of the Royal Palace district, a walk over the Chain Bridge and cruise on the Danube delivers romance in spades. Enjoy panoramic views of Budapest from Castle Hill and explore the sights around it such as the Castle Theatre, Palace of the Hungarian President and more followed by a walk over the bridge to Pest. Finally relax with a complimentary beverage on a river cruise of the Danube.

The tour starts with a pleasant drive up to Castle Hill while enjoying spectacular scenery along the way where you will discover the area of the Royal Palace or Buda Castle. Declared a World Heritage Site, the castle area is packed with historical sites and points of interest as well as providing a great vantage point from which to enjoy a stunning panorama of the city below. The castle area was first settled in the 13th century after an attack from the Mongols which proved the need for a more defensible location. Outside the walls of the castle, you visit the Castle Theatre and The Palace of the Hungarian President. See the National Library and the National Gallery which houses a massive and important collection of Hungarian paintings. A ride on the Castle Hill Funicular (opened in 1870) takes you to Adam Clark square, from where you will walk over to the Pest side by taking the oldest suspension bridge of continental Europe, the Chain Bridge. After this spectacular walk, what better way to conclude the tour than with a boat cruise on the beautiful Danube.
