Explore every corner of the fascinating Quito on this exciting tour of the city. Not only will you discover the most interesting sites and landmarks of the capital of Ecuador and hear about their history; this tour also invites you to step into the city and monument erected right on top of the equatorial line: Ciudad Mitad del Mundo, or ‘Middle of the World City’.

Begin with a panoramic walk through the banking and financial districts of Quito. Here you come across ample shopping malls and the classy La Mariscal neighbourhood, where most of the best hotels in town are located. Visit the historic centre, where you will see the wonderful views of the city from the vantage point offered by El Panecillo. Visit also the 17th century San Francisco church and the colonial neighbourhood of La Ronda. While enjoying a stroll through the colonial district, stop to admire renowned landmarks such as Independence Square, La Compania church or the Government’s Palace. After enjoying a hearty local lunch in the historic centre, enjoy a visit to the outstanding Basilica Church.

Later on, head towards the northern part of Quito, where we enter the Middle of the World City. Contemplate the breathtaking monument that divides the world into a Northern and a Southern Hemisphere. This colossal obelisk was erected in the 17th century after a French expedition defined the precise location of the equatorial line.
