Program details

Step into a time warp with this tour of ancient Peruvian culture. We take you to discover the ruins of El Brujo, one of the most important religious and political centres of the archaic days of the Moche culture. Come along and enjoy a fun, enlightening experience that will make you feel very small of the overall scale of history.

Your adventure begins the very moment you are whisked from your hotel. After a comfortable bus ride accompanied by an amazing backdrop, you will arrive at El Brujo. This magnificent archaeological complex is located just north of the city of Trujillo and it contains some simply astounding legacies of a people who inhabited this part of the world almost two millennia ago.

Most modern experts widely agree that it belonged to the Moche culture and that the construction was a religious and political centre. Archaeological findings indicate that these ancient people flourished between the years 100 and 750 AD.

One of its most awe-inspiring attractions is its many series of grand murals in relief that are splayed all along the walls of important buildings. Such murals can be appreciated on the wonderful pyramids and the burial sites of the Lady of Cao, a noblewoman of around 25 whose skin was entirely tattooed with snakes and spiders. By the time you transfer you back to you hotel, you will have been shocked by the abrupt change of jumping from the past and back into the present.
