Program Day 1 Guatemala Arrival at the airoport of Guatemala City and transfer to the Hotel. Overnight. Day 2 Guatemala-Iximche’-Chichicastenango Departure toward Chichicastenango. Visit Iximchè, the ancient capital of the Cakchiquel kingdom. Overnight. Day 3 Chichicastenango-Lake Atitlán This moring will be spent at the indigenous market hld every Thursday and Sunday. After the market departure toward Lake Atitlán. Overnight. Day 4 Lake Atitlán-Santiago-La Antigua A morning boat (public boat) will be baorded to visit the Tzutuhil town of Santiago. After returning to Panajachel there will be the transfer to La Antigua. Overnight. Day 5 La Antigua Free day. There will be the opportunity to take optional to visit this colonial city, where we will admire the Cathedral, the Twon Hall, the Santo Domingo Museum, the churches of La Merced and San Francisco, and other buildings. Overnight. Day 6 La Antigua-Copán Morning departure from Guatemala to cross the border into Honduras and visit Copan, an incredible place where you will be able to see stelae, pyramids, ball courts, burial grounds, all of a great archeological value. Overnight. Day 7 Copán-Quiriguá-Area Izabal Daparture from Copan toward the Guatemalan Caribbean. On the road visit of the archeological site of Quiriguá where some of the best Mundo Maya stelas can be found. The trip continues until we reach Izabal. Overnight. Day 8 Livingston-Poptún-Area Peten Early morning a boat trip (public boat) is made to reach Livingston, an Afro-Caribbean village. Continue toward the area of Peten/Flores where the arrival is scheduled in late afternoon. Overnight. Day 9 Peten-Tikal-Peten This entire day will be spent visiting the Mayan city of Tikal, undoubtely the best example of Classical Mayan culture. Visit the central plaza, the temple of the Great Jaguar, the lost World or Temple IV. A picnic lunch is included. Overnight. Day 10 Peten-Yaxchilán-Palenque Departure from Peten toward the Usumacinta river, where we will board a boat. We will then cross the border into Mexico and visit the archeological site of Yaxchilán. Our journey will continue toward Palenque arriving there at mid-afternoon. Overnight. Day 11 Palenque-Campeche In the morning visit one of the most suggestive mayan archeological site, Palenque, still hiding in the tropical forest. The trip continues to Campeche, a colonial port in the Gulf of Mexico. Overnight. Day 12 Campeche-Uxmal-Merida Departure from Campeche to visit the archeological zone of Uxmal. In the afternoon we reach Merida, capital of the Yucatan State. Overnight. Day 13 Merida-Chichen Itza-Cancun Leave Merida to travel to Chichen Itza, the last visit of the tour but maybe the most important. Chichen Itza is known worlwide for its Pyramids and the Ball Court. We will arrive in Cancun late afternoon. Overnight. Day 14 Cancún - airport Transfer to the airport and departure.
