Program
Day 01: HANOI (Lunch & Dinner)
Arrive and transfer to the hotel.
Lunch in the hotel
The first half of the day is dedicated to visiting some of the most classic locations in the 'Cultural' Capital of Vietnam. Passing in front of the impressive mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh, you enter a park that was once the residence of the Governor General of Indochina, as well as the house in which housed the President. Not far from here lays the delightful, "One Pillar Pagoda." Built in 1049. In front of it are the Dien Huu Pagoda, the Van Mieu and the Confucian Temple of Literature, which is one of the oldest universities in Asia and dates back to 1070. At the heart of the city lies the Lake of the returned sword with the islet of Jade Mountain Temple (Quan Thanh Temple). The day ends with about an hour of the Water Puppet show: The only show of this kind in the whole world, where the actors are wooden puppets and ancient stories are retold and adapted to modern everyday life situations, based off popular traditional legends. The whole show with the wooden puppets on water made stage is something not to miss.
Dinner in a typical Vietnamese restaurant.
Day 02: HANOI - HALONG BAY (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
Transfer from Hanoi to Halong Bay.
Full day visit in Halong Bay. After a stop at a local show centre famous for its production of silk, ceramics and stone sculptures. You can continue to visit Halong Bay, considered by many as the "eighth wonder of the world' on a traditional handmade wooden boat which has been carefully restored. The boat will cruise between the myriad of Islands, Islets, rocks and reefs. The cruise on the boat is marvelous.
