Program

Day 01: SAIGON (Lunch)
Arrival and transfer to the hotel.
Lunch in a typical restaurant.
Half day visit, also in cyclo, of the district of Cholon, Saigon's Chinatown. We visit Thien Hau, the most revered temple of the Cantonese community, dedicated to the Celestial Lady protector of merchants and sailors. We then take a walk along Trieu Quang Phuc St., known for its traditional Chinese herbalists. We reach the Catholic church of Cha Tam, built in 1900, in a peculiar style which blends European baroque and classic chinese architecture.
We then proceed to the bustling shopping area that runs from the Dong Khoi Street, the "Rue Catinat" of the French era, to the large Ben Thanh market square.
Return to the hotel.

Day 02: SAIGON (Breakfast, Lunch)
Half-day visit to Cu Chi tunnels. We leave Saigon and head to visit the Cu Chi tunnels, the famous underground city of the Vietcong. Who managed to create an incredible underground network of warehouses, dorms, armories, kitchens, infirmaries and command posts linked together by 250 kilometers of tunnels and galleries of those who resisted. The tunnels stayed untouched for the next years from bombs and attacks by the American troops. The tunnels were first built during the French occupation but during the war with the USA they were developed. Some facilities were made available to the public and mannequins are mounted with weapons at strategic guard points. While visiting this site, we will watch a documentary movie shot by the Vietcong.

In the afternoon, we return back to the city center for the second half of the day.During the visit in the heart of Saigon, we will visit the War Remnants Museum and the square where the colonial era is revived. Especially in the post office building as we as the neo-Gothic Cathedral of Notre Dame. Designed by Gustave Eiffel.

Day 03: SAIGON - CAN THO (Breakfast, Lunch)
Transfer towards Can Tho. During this varied journey one can admire the photogenic scenarios of the Mekong Delta, an unique ecosystem.
We arrive at Cai Be river port to board a smaller local boat more suitable too navigate the narrow canals. Passing through crowded shores, full of life and commerce, we reach the local fresh market, where a myriad of people on boats convey fruits, vegetables and handicrafts from various areas of the delta.
We visit a family-run business specialized in the traditional production of rice cakes, palm sugar candies and a variety of local desserts.
Lunch in a typical restaurant.
We go back to the main boat and continue navigating the small channels of the Mekong river, finally reaching Can Tho in the afternoon.
Transfer to the hotel.

Day 04: CANTHO - PHU QUOC (Breakfast)
In the morning, we will visit the commercial and agricultural heart of Can Tho, considered the "Capital of the Delta". A fertile agriculture region, which lives healthy by the healing waters of the great river. We will travel by speedboat, in order to visit the two great floating markets of Cai Rang.
Transfer to the airport.
Flight to Phu Quoc.
Arrive at Phu Quoc and transfer to the hotel.
