Description

Day 1 Torre del Greco

Arrival in afternoon in Torre del Greco in the Bay of Naples. Check-in at the hotel and then you are free to soak up the atmosphere of the town. You could stroll through the streets and sit down to sip an Italian coffee at one of the many bustling pavement cafés and watch the world go by. Dinner and overnight stay in Torre del Greco.

Day 2 Naples

Departure for a full day guided tour of the cosmopolitan city of Naples. Beautifully spread on the Bay of Naples and overlooked by Mount Vesuvius, Naples is a vibrant city with charismatic narrow and noisy streets, ancient churches, a medieval university, palaces, street markets and hundreds of cafés, bars and restaurants. It is one of Europe’s most densely populated cities and is chaotic, noisy, and always uniquely charming. We will discover the splendid Capodimonte Museum and the gorgeous Royal Palace, the Spaccanapoli Street in the old city centre and the religious devotion to San Gennato. Don’t forget that Naples is where pizza was invented and chefs in the area are still perfecting the dish to this day. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay in Torre del Greco.

Day 3 Pompeii, Vesuvius

Departure for a fantastic full-day journey in the past. In the morning, we will visit the extensive ruins of Pompeii, the Roman city buried under ash during the eruption of Vesuvius in 79AD. We all know the story of Pompeii, however, it is more than a series of ruins: the state of preservation is astonishing and even if you are not interested in history you cannot fail to be moved by the scale of the city, especially when you consider machines were unavailable. Much of our knowledge about the way of life of the ordinary Romans, their habits, class systems and domestic arrangements has come from here. Some buildings have not only mosaics and frescoes, but also  graffiti describing political events, romantic entanglements and gossip of the time!  Afternoon excursion with alpine guide on Vesuvius, one of the most spectacular volcanoes in the world. Coaches can reach an altitude of 1000 metres, with possibility for group to continue by foot. We will then take a walk in a vineyard to discover some local wines - Lacrima Christi, Aglianico and Falanghina - for wine tasting together with bruschetta, cheese and typical products. Back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Torre del Greco.

Day 4 Phlegraean Fields, Torre del Greco

Departure for Phlegraean Fields, a vast volcanic and archaeological area, lying mostly underwater and comprising 24 craters and volcanic edifices. Firstly, we will immerse ourself in the Solfarata of Pozzuoli and will admire how it still emits jets of steam with sulfurous fumes. We will admire also the Amphitheater of Flavio, the most important Roman legacy of the area, then we will move to the Serapide Temple and we will pass through the Felice arch, the majestic entrance to the old city. From there, we will arrive to Cuma excavations to visit Sibila's cave and its temples. In the afternoon, we return to Torre del Greco to visit the fascinating Coral Museum, which is showing the largest private corals and cameos collection in the world. Dinner and overnight stay in Torre del Greco.

Day 5 Torre del Greco

Breakfast and departure for return journey. End of our services.
