Il programma nel dettaglio

Explore the beautiful Barcelonan locations made famous by Ildefonso Falcones’ best-selling novel The Cathedral of the Sea. With this tour you are invited to see with your very own eyes every renowned street, square and scenario described in the novel, as well as the magnificent cathedral referred to in the title: Santa Maria de la Mar.

We begin this enlightening tour by acquainting you with your charismatic guide for the day. Thanks to his ample knowledge on the city, as well as a delightful sense of humour, by the end of the day you will have a much deeper insight into the structure and history of Barcelona’s mysterious Old City.

We find Santa Maria de la Mar in the ancient district known as the Gothic Quarter, a labyrinthine tangle of little streets, each with its own scars and souvenirs from a variety of historical ages. Thanks to Falcones’ book, you can create in your head a pretty truthful image of what Barcelona would have looked like in the difficult 14th century. So the logical second step is to join this tour, with which you will be able to see the modern aspect of the areas in which the novel’s events took place; the 14th century has left its mark on many of them.

Don’t miss this unparalleled opportunity to experience the stories of The Cathedral of the Sea’s main characters as well as admiring some of the most important monuments of Barcelona.
