Il programma nel dettaglio

Take a fascinating trip into a fantasy world where jungles engulf ancient ruins on this tour of some of Angkor’s most famous temples.

Discover the three temples comprising the Roluos Group. The temples, set slightly away from the main Angkor complex, offer a fantastic opportunity to explore some of the earliest ruins in relative peace and quiet. The oldest of the group, Preah Ko, was built around 879AD. Spot the beautiful lintels and inscriptions before moving on to Bakong the main temple of the three. This was Indravarman I’s state temple and as such exhibits impressive carvings and stone sculptures. The third of the group is the Lolei temple, a small edifice with curious false doors.

After a delicious lunch, we continue on to the Artisan d’Angkor, for an enthralling look into the world of Khmer crafts. Cambodian artisan’s display many time honoured traditional trades from silk weaving to stone and wood carving. This fantastic organisation helps to maintain the traditions alive while benefiting the underdeveloped rural communities.

Back on the temple trail we visit the rare pink sandstone temple of Banteay Srei. The name means citadel of the beauty and from the magnificent bas-relief carvings on the walls it is easy to see why. The last stop is perhaps the most impressive of all: Ta Prohm, the mysterious temple half engulfed by the ever encroaching jungle. Gaze in awe at the immense trees enveloping the ruins before heading to the spot immortalised in ‘Tomb Raider’ to get a photo or two.
