Il programma nel dettaglio

Take a day to explore the many sites and varied attractions of Hangzhou, a thriving city on the Yangtze River delta. Listed as one of the seven ancient capitals of China, Hangzhou is the largest city of Zhejiang Province and thanks to its strategic position on Hangzhou Bay, 180km southwest of Shanghai, for much of the last 1,000 years it has been one of the country’s most prosperous cities. Founded during the Qin dynasty, the city can boast a long and rich history and a host of interesting places to visit. Outstanding among these is the Yue Fei Temple, built to commemorate the eponymous general, venerated by Chinese people as a national hero.

Our next port of call, located in the Wulin Mountains, is Lingyin Temple, one of the largest and most beautiful temples in the whole of China – its name literally translates as ‘soul’s retreat’. The tour will then call in at the remarkable Flower Harbour Park, which is a former private garden built and owned by an imperial officer of the South Song dynasty, now a beautiful place of carp ponds and verdant foliage.

No visit to Hangzhou would be complete without seeing West Lake, which was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2011. Enjoy magnificent views of the shore and beyond as you cruise along its placid waters. Finally there will be an opportunity to learn about the rituals surrounding the preparation and consumption of Chinese tea with a tea-making demonstration and a tea-tasting session.
This tour holds out the prospect of varied and unforgettable day.
