Il programma nel dettaglio

Travel across the magnificent southern shore of Iceland and discover the astounding glacial lagoon, Jökulsárlón. Iceland is a land where magic seems to be the very nature of things. It is not surprising that it’s a land filled with lore about elves and ogres; your mind’s eye can just picture them crawling around some mossy stone or crouching in an icy fortress. The ice lagoon is no different: it has an aura of what dreams and fairy-tales are made of.

Along the way, pass by some quaint villages as well as Skaftafell National Park. You’ll stop to visit the amazing waterfalls of Seljalandsfoss Skógafoss. But the path holds more wonders in store: just before reaching the lagoon, pass by Iceland’s biggest volcano and the glacier known as Öræfajökull. This glacier contains the island’s highest peak, Hvannadalshnjúkur – more than 2.000 metres high!

Upon arrival at Jökulsárlón, enjoy an enchanting boat tour on the lagoon. Like almost everything in Iceland, your ride isn’t ordinary either: it’s a special boat that can drive short distances on land as well as sail on water. On board this amphibian device, contemplate the beauty of Jökulsárlón. The lagoon started to form in the early 20th century and it still grows year after year. See some staggering blocks of ice that have broken off from Europe’s largest glacier Vatnajökull, adrift in this land of ice and sea, floating slowly towards the ocean, like a dream, like a legend, like Iceland.
