Unspoiled nature reigns on island of Viðey, which has a unique place in Icelandic history. Birdlife abounds on the island, while out­stand­ing works of modern art also make their mark. We hope you enjoy your stay and that you help us keep the island the treasures pearl that it is.

Viðey is a unique site that combines history, art and nature. It is only few minutes away from the city by boat and is well known for its tranquillity and the spirit of bygone centuries. The island is well suited for outdoor activities and hiking but is also an interesting venue for dinner parties, meetings, conferences and functions of all sorts.

In connection to the ferry departures a café is open for guests in Viðeyjarstofa and a restaurant for groups upon request. In summer time a horse and a bike rental is open for individuals and groups. Meeting/pick-up point: Skarfabakki port

Start/opening time: 1st October to 14th May: Saturday and Sunday from Skarfabakki port at 1:15pm, 2:15pm and 3:15pm. Return from viðey st 2:30pm, 3:30pm and 4:30pm.
