Il programma nel dettaglio

Enter the dragon in the lovingly restored Longshan Temple, live the ultimate Taipei experience with a visit to the Huaxi Street Night Market and cap it all off with a visit to the imposing Taipei 101, which was the world’s tallest building until 2010. We get the evening started with a meal at the famous “Din Tai Fung Restaurant” where an authentic Asian treat awaits before we set off into Tapei at night.

Longshan Temple is where Guanshiyin Budda and other divine spirits are worshiped, and is famed for the dragon poles that adorn its serene halls. The doors, beams and poles are beautifully decorated. There are also exquisite wood sculptures and many Chinese poems, verses and lyrics on signs. Longshan is also more than a temple: there are traditional streets, antique shops and Chinese medicine apothecaries surrounding the temple.

Popularly known as Snake Alley, the legendary Huaxi Street Night Market is located close to the Temple and is famed for the wide variety of goods sold there. Traditional Chinese lamps light the street, creating an unmistakable oriental glow. There are rustic eateries lining the street that serve great local dishes. In the summer, chopped ice plates and fresh juice are in great demand. In the winter, dishes with Chinese medicine are a huge draw.

The 101-storey Taipei 101 was the tallest building in the world from 2004 to 2010. It is home to a mass of shops on the lower floors, incorporating many top brands. It also has the highest-roofed coffee house in the city and many fine restaurants.
