What To Expect
Meet your guide and tour group at Piazza del Gesù Nuovo at your chosen departure time, 10am or 4pm. Head out through the city of Naples on foot, stopping first at the largest Gothic church in the city, dating from the 14th century. Behind it, view the cloister decorated with hand-painted Neapolitan ceramic tiles.
Stroll down the famous Spaccanapoli Street toward Piazetta Nilo, the ancient heart of Naples, which gives a window into the Neapolitans' daily life. See the statue of the River Nile, which dates from the Hellenistic period. Walk until you reach via San Gregorio Armeno, the world capital of the Nativity and home to the artisans and merchants who specialize in the art and the craft of the Neapolitan Presepe. Snap photos of the belltower of the church of San Gregorio Armeno, which dominates the skyline.
End your tour with a tasting of some of the city's favorite street food: 'Pizza fritta', a fried pizza dough stuffed with mozzarella, ricotta and cooked ham or 'Pizza a portafoglio', a tasty tomato pizza folded like a wallet.
