What To Expect

Bologna is best known worldwide not only for its University, the oldest one in Europe, its never-ending porticos or its historic and artistic heritage, but also for its culinary culture and tradition.
Fondly called “The Fat one” by locals, Bologna is in fact gastronomic Capital of Italy.

This tour will guide you through the main landmarks of the city, from Piazza Maggiore and the Cathedral of S.Petronio, enclosed by main sites such as Palazzo d’Accursio, seat of the town council, the elegant Fountain of the Neptune and the palace of King Enzo, yet focusing on the typical products of our delicatessen.

You will visit the narrow streets of its old marketplace, with its “botteghe”: grocery shops were you can still buy famous food products such as Mortadella or Tortellini, and new areas like the Mercato delle Erbe.

The tour includes two stops for a food tasting of traditional local products and wine. Your guide will accompany throughout the story of each product that renders Bologna famous.
