Il programma nel dettaglio

Our tour begins with a visit to downtown Sao Paulo. We start at the neo-Gothic Metropolitan Cathedral, more commonly known as Catedral da Sé, which boasts an organ with over 10,000 pipes and an underground chapel and crypt. Go to where it all started at Pateo do Colegio, where the city was founded in 1554, as well as Mosteiro de São Bento. Admire the city’s modern site at the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil, and after being immersed in Brazilian culture, we head to a historically important landmark, the first aqueduct built in the city: the Viaduto do Chá, named after the tea that grew in the valley below. After a rich and fascinating morning, we break for lunch in the Municipal Market, where you can try and buy local products and delicacies and get ready for the afternoon ahead.

We also tour the Municipal Theater, which is regarded as a great landmark in the city for both historical and architectural importance and was constructed in 1911 by Ramos de Azevedo. It hosted historically important events such as the Week of Modern Art in 1922, which marked a turning point in Brazilian Modernism, and today hosts ballets, orchestras and renowned choirs. We also go to the Matarazzo Building and Vale do Anhangabaú for fascinating views, before ending the tour at Praça da República.

Others: Please note that the tour combines transportation by subway and on foot.
