Il programma nel dettaglio

Gaze down one of King Christian V’s most recognised masterpieces, Nyhavn, out into the lively waters of Copenhagen’s harbour. From afar, seeming to rise out of the sea, you spot a newly built residential complex. Hiding behind it are colourfully painted, crooked houses with slanting roofs. We skip across the “Kissing Bridge” that connects the two sides of the harbour to have a closer look (don’t forget to mind the bikes zooming by!). We’ve now arrived in a new district. Let our Cultural Christianshavn Walk begin!

Here in Christianshavn, fascinating history is met by visual arts, alternative lifestyle (well, only in one area… can you guess which?) and popular boardwalk hangouts. Interested in more? Okay, we’ll indulge you! A woman’s prison, Michelin star restaurants (past and present), a military base and maritime history; the mix of the old and the new, artistic and avant-garde, together makes for a vibrantly cultural district of Copenhagen.

Walking along the idyllic canals of Christianshavn, you hear the water rippling against the boats lining the narrow waterways. Don’t forget to look up (after crossing the canal) - you’re looking at the iconic spiral tower of the Church of Our Saviour. Turn the corner, walk a few blocks, and suddenly you’re met with a display of colour! You’ve reached the gates to the Freetown of Christiania. Before we let you go inside to explore on your own, we’ll end our Cultural Christianshavn Walk with the story of Christiania. Cultural, creative and crafty, this is Christianshavn!

Others

This tour ends outside the entrance to Christiania - it does not go inside (only Christiania’s own guides are allowed to guide inside). Guests are welcome to continue into Christiania after the tour on their own (it is approx. a 15 min walk back to Nyhavn).
