Don’t miss out on this chance to take a wonderful tour to Portillo and Incas Lagoon. Portillo is a fantastic ski resort outside from Santiago where you can spend time up in the mountains, skiing or just admiring the views from the cable cars. The fascinating Incas Lagoon is a spectacle in itself; the views that Portillo has to offer are truly breath-taking.
The wonderful trip begins through a mountain range majestically capped with the Andes to reach Portillo and its unique lncas Lagoon. You will reach the Chacabuco Monument, a historical site where a battle for Chile independence took place in 1817. Then you’ll cross a tunnel bordering on the next region.
Later you will meet with your guide, with the Aconcagua Mountain in the background, and travel along the road the old Andean railway together as you travel along the mountain range. Small towns, mining camps, glaciers and the impressive Andes Mountains can be seen from Rio Blanco. You will become witness of how the man built protective passageways as shelters from avalanches occurring in the winter season. Then time for lunch at visitors is own expense but not before marveling at how imposing the Incas lagoon is. Return to the hotel in the afternoon.
