Magical Copenhagen is a compact cosmopolitan city that has something for everyone. Join the Grand Tour of Copenhagen and get to know all of the major sights in one easy go with our convivial guide.

The pretty Danish capital has many an interesting tale not least of all that of The Little Mermaid. Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s famous fairytale, the statue of The Little Mermaid has gazed wistfully out to sea for the last 100 years and has become the most well known icon of the city. The tour will also take you to see the fabulous Gefion Fountain depicting yet another tale, this time of mythology and the creation of Copenhagen.

View the pretty harbour area with its colourful houses before passing on to grander things in the shape of the Amalienborg Palace. This magnificent Rococo style building dating from the 1700s is still the Royal Palace today and if the flag is flying you’ll know that the Monarch is in residence. Enjoy the opportunity to see the changing of the guard in all its splendour.

Moving on to more modern attractions, we pass the Tivoli Gardens famed for being the world’s second oldest amusement park. A great place for old and young alike, be sure to return and go wild on the rides, enjoy one of the many concerts or eat in one of the gourmet restaurants.

As we continue round, take note of the impressive Royal Theatre, the National Museum and the Ny Carsberg Glyptotek art museum if you’d like to delve further into the cultural side of the city. Alternatively, admire the history and architecture of the Old Stock Exchange or of the many wonderful churches we pass. Whatever your preference, this tour will be sure to give you an excellent introduction to this lovely city.
