Access to Lantau has become much easier since the new development of Ngong Ping Cable Car, which is greatly responsible for the island becoming Hong Kong’s new favourite attraction. So hop on to the cable car and prepare for an awe-inspiring experience as the sights slowly glide by your window and under your feet while the cable car takes you to the island are simple breathtaking.
On arrival at Lantau Island, strengthen your bonds with nature by discovering the fascinating life locals lead at Tai O, a picturesque fishing village where all the houses stand above the water on stilts. Enjoy a boat ride round the town see a community comfortably making a living in conditions that would only seem possible in a fiction novel.
Later on, visit the world’s tallest, outdoor, seated bronze Buddha statue at the Po Lin Monastery, truly a sight to remember. Alongside your knowledgeable guide, you will learn all about this statue’s fascinating history. By the end of the tour, you won’t want to leave Lantau.
