Begin your day at the corner of 9th and South Street, from where you will then head through the Bella Vista neighbourhood to the thrilling marketplace. Explore tiny streets and iconic mosaic art, swing by a historic deli, duck into a tempting bakery and stroll along Christian Street before your senses come alive at the famous Italianmarket.


Indeed, the 9th Street Italian Market is one of the very oldest neighbourhoods not only in Philadelphia, but in the whole of the United States. Inside it, sellers holler their offers while local and tourist shoppers alike haggle for the better price, all amidst the undeniably joie de vivre that spending a morning in a traditional market produces – a treat for the senses.
