Clear your mind and refresh your senses with a hike through lush landscapes of Cundinamarca, just 45 minutes away from Bogota city. Head to Puerto Araujo and hike through cloud forest towards the town of Tena, where along the way you’ll come across a breath-taking waterfall and some of the richest flora and fauna around.


Travel to Puerto Araujo from your hotel, which is the starting point for your adventure. With the help of your expert and friendly guide, you’ll be navigated through the woodland paths that link this town to Tena and they’ll be on hand to answer any questions you may have. The entire walk is downhill, so all your friends and family can come and appreciate some of the finest and richest nature in Colombia, just a stone’s throw away from the city. The path will lead you past abundant flora and fauna, as well as the mosses that grow on the side of the ‘Honda’ creek.


Along the way you’ll also discover a traditional coffee farm, built over fifty years ago, and before you reach Tena, the spectacular El Tambo waterfall will appear before your eyes. With water falling 60 metres, it’s the perfect location to be at one with nature and enjoy a natural bath next to the cascading refreshing water. Around Tena, you’ll come across the Chapel of Nuestra Señora de la Merced, inspired by the Chapel of San Juan of the Nobleman of Segovia and the Mon Plaisier House. Once you reach Tena, rest your feet and head back to your hotel in Bogota city.
