On this Hong Kong city tour, you’ll venture into both the rich and poor communities to learn about the areas’ development, as well as the cultures of those who call these districts home. You’ll look at some legacies of the British colonial period and learn how the city is revitalising its heritage buildings, as well as the public’s quest to promote local arts and culture.

Your Hong Kong tour will lead you to the posh Kowloon Tong through a big recreation ground and park, which acts as a buffer from the hustle and bustle of urban Kowloon. Here you’ll discover many quaint streets – and expensive cars. This is a luxury neighbourhood, home to affluent locals, with whooping real estate price tags.

From there, you’ll visit what was once the biggest shopping mall in Hong Kong. Find out why so many shoppers lose their sense of direction and just let their shopping instinct take over amid the more than 200 shops and restaurants.

You’ll then explore the other side of the city, an area that’s home to social housing and charity organisations. Yet despite the poverty, this district of Hong Kong is full of character and colour. As you explore, you’ll learn about the local government’s efforts to improve the community, and see sites such as the first generation of public housing in Hong Kong and a former factory turned into an art studio and exhibit space. You’ll find out why so many Hong Kongers are rediscovering this area, checking out its vibrant markets, electronics shopping malls, and the nearby Garment District. You’ll finish off your Hong Kong city tour on a treasure hunt through the city’s best known flea market.
