Dresden carries visitors away with a synthesis of the arts: fascinating buildings and art treasures, impressive museums, as well as orchestras and choirs of worldwide reputation. Dresden offers attractions in great variety and combines three aspects which complement one another: notable art treasure, architectural sights and a charming landscape. Magnificent promenades on the bank of the Elbe, interesting museums and institutions, industrial monuments, charming details.

The royal buildings are among the most impressive buildings in Dresden. We will see the Dresden castle or royal palace which is one of the oldest buildings in Dresden. For almost 400 years, it has been the residence of the electors (1547–1806) and kings (1806–1918) of Saxony of the Albertine line of the house of Wettin. It is known for the different architectural styles employed, from baroque to neo-renaissance.

Across the road from the castle we will continue to the Zwinger Palace. The Zwinger is a palace in Dresden, built in rococo style. It served as the orangery, exhibition gallery and festival arena of the Dresden court.

Today the Zwinger is a museum complex that contains the old masters picture gallery, the Dresden porcelain collection and the royal cabinet of mathematical and physical instruments.

We follow to the Hofkirche. Dresden Cathedral, or the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, previously the Catholic Church of the Royal Court of Saxony, called in German Katholische Hofkirche and since 1980 also known as Kathedrale Sanctissimae Trinitatis, is the Roman Catholic Cathedral of Dresden.

It is located near the Elbe River in the historic center of Dresden, Germany. It is said to be the greatest cupola building in Central and Northern Europe.

We can walk by the most important bridges crossing the Elbe River, the Blaues Wunder Bridge and the Augustusbrücke, which is on the site of the oldest bridge in Dresden. Then we continue to the most famous sculpture in Dresden. It is Jean-Joseph Vinache's golden equestrian sculpture of August the Strong called the Golden Cavalier on the Neustädter Markt square.

You can also see everywhere in Dresden about 300 fountains and springs, many of them in parks or squares. The wells serve only a decorative function, since there is a fresh water system in Dresden.
