Make a bee-line for the only zoo where you’ll find offers four different zoos in the same place: Zoo, Aquarium, Dolphinarium and Aviary. Located in the Casa del Campo, only 300 metres from the Madrid Amusement Park, the Madrid Zoo Aquarium is considered to be one of the most important zoos in the world, both for the number of species and animals it houses and for its constant research and conservation work. Since opening in 1972, its comprehensive and fabulous facilities spread out over 20 hectares deserve to be visited individually, making it the only European zoo to gathering four options in the same location. It features a complete zoo, with over 500 species from the five continents and 6,000 specimens including such new arrivals as cute Koalas and surprises such as the Bengal tigers and albinos along with state of the art enclosures such as the new “Gorilla Land”. There is also an important Aquarium specializing in tropical marine life, with over 2 million litres of seawater and 200 species, including sharks and one of the most splendid collections of coral in Europe. The Dolphinarium, unique in inland Spain with a capacity for 3,000 people holds magnificent displays by intelligent and friendly dolphins, while the Aviary occupies a large space housing exhibitions of free flying birds of prey and many exotic birds. The park has extensive facilities and has everything you need to wind down and recharge your batteries. The young and the not so young are bound to have a great time.
