Contemplate the beautiful panorama of Rio de Janeiro at your feet with this tour to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain. Located in the district of Urca, this abrupt hill is one of the Wonderful City’s most iconic landmarks. This tour takes you above and into Rio, for after seeing it from a bird’s eye-view you will be taken to discover the city’s thriving downtown.

Your day begins in Urca, a true gem of a district which can only be discovered little by little. It’s brimming with quaint old residencies and not too many commercial establishments. Head for the Sugarloaf cable car, the first transport of its type to be built in Brazil – and the third in the world!



The cable car ride to the top of the hill has two parts: the first ride takes you from the Boarding Station up 224 metres to the Urca Hill, a smaller mount that precedes the Sugarloaf. From there, hop onto a second cable car that will whizz you up to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain, the best vantage point of Rio de Janeiro. Take out your cell phone or your camera and immortalize this instant in breath-taking panoramic pics.



After catching your breath, descend into the city you have just contemplated from above and head for the downtown. The tour will take you to discover the Municipal Theater; the National Library; Cinelandia, Rio’s largest public square; the amazing aqueduct Arcos da Lapa; and the Sao Sebastiao Metropolitan Cathedral.



The departure time can be decided by the passengers. Advisable to schedule pick-up between 8 and 9am.
