Spread across 60 acres, the complex encompasses lush lawns, a small lake, orchards and a recreated Thai village. At the handicrafts market, find the perfect souvenir for yourself or those back home and support local craftsman.
Step into the recreation of a Thai village and see the traditional stilt houses built to endure flooding. These wooden houses, seek harmony with nature through wide-open spaces, large terraces and high, sloped roofs. In no time, you will feel at home and among friends.
In Thai villages, cultural events and performances are the highlight of the year. See many of these traditions in just a few hours during the Rose Garden’s renowned cultural show. Witness an elaborate wedding ceremony with the bride and groom in traditional Thai clothing. Customs include linking them symbolically with a white thread that is looped around both their heads and pouring holy water from a conch over their hands. A monk ceremony will be performed as well as sword fighting and kick boxing as well as dances. With luck, you will see the bamboo dance in which musicians rhythmically knock together horizontal bamboo poles while dancers lithely move between the poles.
