Program details

Experience the authentic flavours of local Florentine food whilst enjoying a small group walking tour through Florence’s most beautiful neighbourhoods, passing through the Piazza Repubblica, Via Tournbuoni and San Lorenzo district on our quest for exciting new tastes.

The tour begins from our office situated close to the Piazza Signoria. Meet your local guide and immediately make your first stop at a local bar for some Italian coffee tasting. This typical Italian start to the day will leave you energised to continue your tour. The route continues down the elegant Via Tornabuoni and tucked among the high fashion boutiques is the famous Procacci cafe, unchanged since it opened in 1885. Try their tasty signature truffle paste with bread before moving on to the San Lorenzo Market, one of the oldest in Florence. The food stalls with the colourful fresh produce beautifully displayed are like fine works of art and in this mouth-watering setting we try some local cheeses and olive oil. Your tasting experience continues here as we sample more traditional Tuscany dishes and discover the secrets of Bistecca alla Fiorentina.

We must now leave the market but more heavenly flavours await at a wine tasting. Sample various wines produced at local Tuscan vineyards whilst a Sommelier broadens your knowledge of the peculiarities of Tuscan wine explaining the difference between colours, fragrances and wine growing areas. To complete this incredible taste experience our final stop is at a homemade ice cream parlour to savour the creamy gelatos.
