The tour begins with an illuminating presentation on the wonders of the Acropolis including the intriguing techniques used to transport the marbles from Mt Pentelikon over 15 miles away. Fully informed, you will head out to the hilltop to experience temples first hand. Admire the skill and sheer manpower required to build the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the largest ancient temple on mainland Greece. Marvel at the ornate Corinthian columns, 15 of which are still standing to this day. Take in Hadrian’s gate, the triumphal arch that once spanned an ancient road and the picturesque Plaka, one of the oldest districts in the city of Athens.


Following the exact route used by carriages to transfer the building materials for the Parthenon, you will pass the Choragic Monument of Lysicrates, the spectacular Theatre of Dionysus and the world-famous Odeon of Herod Atticus. Climb the “Sacred Rock” to admire the Propylaea, the temple of Athena Nike and of course, the Parthenon. Standing on the fortified hill of the Acropolis, you will drink in the unforgettable panoramic views of Athens and beyond.
