Program details

This overnight tour spotlights two of Turkey’s showpieces. Your first morning concentrates on Ephesus, one of the world’s best-preserved archaeological sites. You’ll take in the highlights of this 2,000+ year-old city. Stroll its famous Marble Street and see the grooves made by the chariots, walk around the 24,000-seater Great Theatre, once the scene of bloody gladiatorial battles and wonder at the Celsus Library - built facing east to capture the morning light. Big-hitters aside, you’ll also see crumbled houses, baths and even the city’s brothel.

Then after some lunch, before moving on to Pamukkale, we'll visit either the House of the Virgin Mary or the Basilica of St John, both sites being close to Ephesus. Check into your hotel and spend the evening relaxing before dinner. Next morning, you’ll see Pamukkale. Formed by calcium-filled springs pouring down the mountainside, its glacier-white ridges and pools look like something from an Arctic wonderland. Wander round snapping photos and explore nearby Hierapolis. This Roman city was constructed around the original springs and features an impressive amphitheater. You may also want to swim in Cleopatra’s pool (extra charge) to enhance your youthful glow.
