We welcome you to embark on this exhilarating introduction to the main attractions and lively markets of Denpasar, Bali’s colorful capital city. Denpasar is the largest city in Bali, with an attractive main square in the city center. Take in the captivating Jagatnatha Temple, the biggest Hindu Temple that is appointed as a public shrine to worship the Hindu God. Feast your eyes on the Bali Museum, situated on one side of the attractive Puputan Square, where you can admire art collections which range from prehistoric finds to early 20th century art. Here you can learn about Bali and its fascinating culture and among the many artifacts on display are scale models depicting the ritualistic Balinese tooth ?lling, marriage and cremation ceremonies. The existence of this museum is very important to the people that live in Bali as it acts to preserve the ancient and historical objects that have cultural values and is also a legacy of Balinese ancestors. Afterwards, head to Gajah Mada Road where you will encounter the great landmark of the city, the Catur Muka Statue. A depiction of God Brahma, the Catur Muka Statue is a manifestation of God as the Almighty Creator. Put your ‘haggling skills’ to the testas we pass through colorful local markets where the villagers sell their products. You will find handmade crafts, local fruits, flowers, fish, chickens and pigs among the many items for sale. See how the locals live, eat and work. Before returning to the hotel guests will visit the Bali Art Centre, which is a traditional Balinese building which houses a permanent exhibition of modern paintings and wood carvings and is also the central stage for the Balinese dance performances and drama.
