Discover all the highlights of Australia’s longest river system, the Murray River. This tour invites you to lay back and relax while cruising along this historical river. Along the way, admire the river’s lush scenery and thriving wildlife.
Begin your adventure by departing from Adelaide and travelling to the mighty Murray. Then hop aboard the comfortable MV Murray Expedition and let the cruise begin. As you glide through the spectacular scenery, your knowledgeable captain will tell you the stories behind the towns and landscapes you go past. Also, while you watch the thriving wildlife float by, you get to enjoy a delightful morning cup of tea. After the cruise, you are invited to a riverside drive past astounding wetlands, dramatic cliffs and charming village communities through Younghusband.
Later on, the coach tour also takes you to the awe-inspiring Mannum Lookout, from where you have some of the very best views of the Murray River and the nearby Mannum Township. Enjoy then a hearty lunch and continue to visit the PS Marion, a fully restored Paddle Steamer built in 1897. Also explore the Mannum Dock Museum, which provides a great overview of the history of river life.
To wrap up the whole experience, the drive back takes you through the picturesque Adelaide Hills and offers a last opportunity to enjoy an afternoon tea on the bans of the Murray. This river, by the end of the day, will feel like a close friend.
