Many fascinating archaeological remains can be explored on the terraces of the Acropolis and in the lower city of Pergamon, now inside the modern town of Bergama. These include the celebrated Library, second only to Alexandria as the most important library of the ancient world; the steepest Theatre of Anatolia; the Temples of Trajan and Dionysos, the monumental Altar of Zeus; the Sanctuary of Demeter; the Gymnasium, and the lower Agora.

Sample a delicious lunch of traditional Turkish specialities before spending the afternoon visiting the Archaeological Museum of Pergamon.

Finish the tour with a visit to Asclepion, known as the Medical Centre of the ancient world where a temple dedicated to Asclepios, the God of Health, became the main centre for ancient medical treatments.

The tour includes transfers, transportation in an air-conditioned vehicle, a traditional Turkish lunch and all entrance fees, service charges and taxes.

Any personal expenses and drinks during lunch are not included.

Please note that museums are closed on Mondays. In the event of any museum closures, an alternative will be offered.

The itinerary involves a good deal of walking, so comfortable footwear is recommended.
