Agra boasts no less than three Unesco World Heritage Sites – and this fascinating cultural tour takes you to all of them. Visit the romantic Taj Mahal, the awe-inspiring Agra Fort and the fantastic Fatehpur Sikri, which is just outside the city. Prepare yourself for an unforgettable and unbeatable day of sightseeing.

Begin your adventure with a visit to the Taj Mahal, the jewel in Agra’s – and India’s – crown. The Taj Mahal is the epitome of love, a poem written in marble by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahanfor his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal. This majestic mausoleum is made entirely of white marble and its walls are decorated with exquisite pietradura (stone inlay). Rare and precious stones were used in the intricate inlay work of the interiors.

Continue to Agra Fort, which has stood on this site for a thousand years and was the seat and the stronghold of the Mughal Empire. This vast riverside complex boasts a collection of palaces, pavilions and mosques so great that it has been declared a Unesco World Heritage Site.

The tour ends with a scenic drive to Fatehpur Sikri, which was founded in 1659 as his capital by Akbar the Great, considered the greatest Mughal emperor. However, a scarcity of water saw the imperial city abandoned within 16 years. This immaculately preserved walled complex is considered by many to be more beautiful than the Taj Mahal. Admire the breathtaking Buland Darwaza gate and impressive Hall of Private Audience among its many architectural gems.
