You'll visit Roman ruins, medieval churches, abandoned Greek settlements and Islamic universities.

After breakfast we 'll head for Soganli situated 45km from Urgup. Soganli is a traditional Anatolian village where people live in the same way as they have for centuries. There are many churches and monasteries in this area, mainly dating from the period between the 9th and 13th Centuries. We will visit the most important including the churches at Karabas, Yilanli, Kubbeli and Sakli Kilise before stopping for a some lunch and a rest.

Next stop is the village of Mustafapasa, once known as Sinesos. This settlement was inhabited by a substantial Greek population before their expulsion in 1924 and you will be able to explore the semi-ruined Orthodox Churches and the mansions of the wealthy.

Then we'll drive on to the recently excavated ruins of the Roman city of Sobesos where you can admire the beautifully crafted floor mosaics. You can also explore the Taskinpasa Medresesi, an Islamic theological school dating from Ottoman times and the early mediaeval Keslik Monastery where you can wander around the refectory and other buildings of this extensive complex.
