Program details

Meet Hawaii’s friendliest and most charming inhabitants on board the Hoku Naia catamaran with this incredible dolphin spotting cruise in one of the world’s most pristine marine habitats. Hoku Naia, meaning “Star Dolphin” in Hawaiian, is a U.S. Coast Guard certified catamaran custom built in 2007 for eco-friendly dolphin watching. Now it’s easy for visitors to get up close to these fantastic wild animals with this Hawaiian eco-tour for all ages.

You’ll head out into the waters off Waianae to meet your new friends. Shielded by the tallest mountain range on Oahu, its waters are not dirtied by rain runoff, creating high visibility and one of the most ideal habitats for marine life. Plus its distance from the city makes it a secluded and unspoiled snorkelling spot. Tours typically see a few pods of dolphins (40-70) daily, with a 98% record of sightings in 2010. But on the rare occasion the dolphins don’t come out to play, guests receive a ‘Dolphin Cheque’ to cruise again (meal, transportation and snorkel optional).

Your friendly crew of captains and certified naturalists love what they do, and are thrilled to share their knowledge and create a memorable dolphin experience for you! In addition, they are trained beyond requirements to ensure your safety. So sit back and soak up your beautiful surroundings, enjoy a hot dog and fries lunch, and keep your eyes peeled for these fantastic ocean animals. Meeting the dolphins face-to-face is a holiday memory that you'll never forget.
