The Audubon Aquarium of the Americas is located on the banks of the Mississippi River, right next to the renowned French Quarter. This fun-filled venue will immerse you in the mystery and the magic of that universe that exists alongside ours and yet is so completely different: the underwater world.

Feel as if you are meandering under the sea as you cross the beautiful walk-through tunnel, where you will become mesmerised by the otherworldly colours of the Caribbean coral reefs. You will also fall in love with our charming penguins and Southern Sea otters as they woo you with their antics.

Your Aquarium experience includes one 20 minute nature documentary movie at Entergy Giant Screen Theater, the largest screen in the South Gulf. Enjoy the wonders of nature through a variety of 3D giant screen features, including a 4k digital projection system and state of the art Dolby Atmos multidimensional sound. Shows are offered according to availability and must be on the same day as the Aquarium visit.

Discover what it feels like to caress a sting ray and to feed a parakeet from your very own hand. Then feel your jaw drop with awe as you set eyes upon our gigantic sharks, tarpon, and rays in the 400,000 gallon Gulf of Mexico Exhibit. Keep your eye particularly open for sea turtles throughout the whole Aquarium, as the coordinator of the Louisiana Marine Mammal and Sea Turtle Rescue Program is preparing to release many of them to the wild. Enter the Audubon Aquarium and feel as if you are walking through a dream.
