Program details

Welcome to the Newseum, the world's most interactive museum, where five centuries of news history meets up-to the-second technology on America's Main Street. Find out why everyone is calling the Newseum the best experience Washington, D.C. has to offer. Each of the seven levels in this magnificent building is packed with interactive exhibits that explore how news affects our shared experience of historic moments. The Newseum's 14 major galleries and 15 theatres will immerse visitors in the world's greatest news stories, the people, the places and the times. Whether you have just a few hours or want to spend all day, you’ll find something for everyone in the family. The Newseum is located between the U.S. Capitol and the White House and just one block from the National Mall.

The Berlin Wall Gallery at the Newseum offers the largest exhibit of Berlin Wall's sections outside of Germany. The gallery of Today's Front Pages shows daily front pages from more than 80 newspapers from all over the world. Other galleries cover topics such as news history, the September 11 attacks, the First Amendment, world press freedom and the history of the Internet, TV and radio.

The Newseum opened in 1997 and has become one of the most popular destinations in Washington DC. Several news broadcasts and the Washington D.C. bureau of Al Jazeera America are hosted in its high definition television studios.
