Program details

Enjoy a taste of Belgium, nibble on some luxury Belgian chocolates and marvel at diamonds with this day trip to Brussels and Antwerp from Amsterdam. The tour will take in all the top sights and attractions in Brussels, including the Atomium, the Chinese Gardens, the royal palaces, the National Basilica and the Grand Place as well as the historical centre of Antwerp – the Diamond Capital of the world.

After a few hours’ bus drive, we arrive at the outskirts of Brussels for a photo stop at the Atomium, a futuristic building constructed in 1958 as part of the World Exhibition. Pass by the Royal Palace of Laeken, the elegant residence of the King and Queen of Belgium, before continuing on to the National Basilica of the Sacred Heart at Koekelberg hill - one the largest churches in the world.

Head to the centre and alight from the bus for a walking tour that takes in the magnificent mall of Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert and the beautiful Grand Place. It is dominated by the almost 100 metre tall Gothic belfry of the City Hall. The square is the heartbeat of the city and it is flanked by partly gilded guild houses of breath-taking beauty. A short stroll away is the world-famous Manneken Pis, the iconic symbol of Brussels. Drop into a nearby chocolatier for a sweet treat and enjoy some free time before heading on to Antwerp via the European district.

Enjoy nearly two hours in Antwerp, including an optional guided tour of the historical centre, taking in the handsome Grote Markt (Main Square). There is an optional visit to Diamond Land before making our way back to Amsterdam.
