Program details

Let us whisk you away to the idyllic island paradise of Elafonisi, just off the southeast coast of Crete.

We first travel to the pretty village of Voulgara to relax over coffee and snacks.

A short walk then brings us to the colossal cave of Agia Sohpia, famous for its impressive, eerie stalactites and mythical, interior chapel. Explore and discover as your knowledgeable, English-speaking guide regales you with the surprising tales that surround this intriguing place. For instance, legend says that the hoof-print of St. George’s horse can be uncovered here. Look hard enough, and you just might find what looks like a horseshoe print in the solid rock.

After our archaeological adventure, we’ll take on the 90-step pilgrimage to the Chrissoskalitissa or ‘Golden Staircase’ monastery.

Rising proudly above a beautiful bay, this 1,000-years-old formidable construction commands breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Finally, it's on to our tour’s star attraction as we board a boat to stunning Elafonisi. Ringed by pink sands and turquoise seas, this uninhabited island paradise is the stuff of dreams. Spend the afternoon on the island’s pristine beaches or swimming in its shallows. You can also take the option of a boat trip to the port of Paleochora before heading homewards.
