Admire the golden spires and exquisite interior of St Patrick’s Cathedral, the tallest and largest church building in Australia and one of Melbourne’s architectural glories. Head to Fitzroy Gardens and discover why Melbourne is known as “The garden city of Australia”. With over sixty acres of open green spaces and trees, the gardens are a haven of peace and quiet in the bustling Central Business District and home to Cook’s Cottage where the parents of James Cook, the British explorer, once lived.

Browse the vibrant and colourful Queen Victoria market and take the opportunity to sample the fresh local produce on sale or pick up a souvenir. Proceed to Melbourne’s Chinatown, the longest continuous Chinese settlement in the Western World and home to a fantastic selection of oriental restaurants.
